UPDATE: Man injured in reported shooting in Jaffrey identified, hospitalized
JAFFREY - The man injured in a reported shooting on Saturday has been identified as Jason D. Conety, 42, of Jaffrey.
According to police, they first received reports of a man with blood on him walking unsteadily on the side of the road near a pickup truck.
When police arrived, the man was on the ground with what appeared to be a gunshot wound, they said.
Conety was taken by ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital after being treated by Jaffrey first responders at the scene. He was then transferred to Elliot Hospital in Manchester where police say he was in stable condition Sunday morning.
Conety, who's home address was listed as on Main Street, recently moved to Jaffrey, and is employed by a local painting contractor, police said.
N.H. State Police Troop C and the Major Crimes Unit are assisting Jaffrey police in investigating the incident..
Proctor Road residents said Saturday night they were told by police to stay inside their homes, while others living closer to the scene said authorities told them to evacuate.
