UPDATE: Man found dead on side of hiking trail identified by NH Fish and Game officials


CONCORD - New Hampshire Fish and Game has identified the hiker who was found dead on Castle Ravine Trail in Low and Burbank’s Grant Monday.

The hiker has been identified as Timothy Hallock, 54 of Orient, New York.

Law enforcement of the U.S. Forest Service had to dig deep regarding the hiker’s identity and worked closely with conservation officers to identify Hallock and his relatives.

Peconic Police Department continued the investigation in Long Island, New York to locate Hallock’s family who were alerted of the incident Monday morning.

Hallock will be transferred to the chief medical examiner in Concord for an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
