MANCHESTER — John Gebo, the man Manchester police arrested in connection with a West Street apartment shooting, appeared in court Monday morning.
The shooting happened at 91 West St. back on June 8 in the dead of night. The next day, three bullet holes were found by the woman who lives there.
“We’re moving as soon as I can find a place, going through the exterior wall and then through the interior wall,” said Nicole Cepeda-Perez.
“They heard loud bangs and property crashing, being damaged," said Patrick Houghton, the case's lead detective. "There were indications of three bangs and three holes corresponding but then again four shells had been found."
A local business caught the whole thing on camera and that video led police to an arrest.
“We showed it to a confidential informant and he was able to identify Mr. Gebo," Houghton said. "They said they were 100 percent certain.”
Gebo was also facing charges for selling drugs after a controlled buy set-up by another undercover informant.
“They set up a location and a time, Mr. Gebo was identified and a purchase had been made,” said Jonathan Duchesne, an officer.
Police also raided the home where Gebo was staying on Belmont Street, saying they arrested an acquaintance, Kelvin Reddick, on a narcotic drug charge and recovered the gun they believed Gebo used to shoot at 91 West St.
The bullet shells were sent to the state crime lab for fingerprinting, and at this time no DNA evidence connects Gebo to the crime.
Gebo was out on bail from his most recent run in with the law — an accusation of breaking into a Derry home just a few months ago.
He will be held on $250,000 cash bail.
