UPDATE: Laconia shelter-in-place lifted, man under arrest
LACONIA - The shelter-in-place is over and a person is under arrest following a police response to a man with a gun in the Country Club Road area, police confirm.
According the Laconia Daily Sun, police arrived to serve a stalking notice to a Country Club Road resident. The man grabbed a handgun and fired at least three rounds, not necessarily aimed at the officer by in the general vicinity of the officer, said Laconia Police Chief Chris Adams.
A special operations group arrived at 2:35 p.m. with two Bear Cats and a Hum-vee. State police, Belmont, Gilford and Laconia Police have set up four perimeters around the house. The man was also reported to be carrying a sledge hammer.
Holy Trinity Catholic School reported it is under lockdown as a precaution and everyone is safe. Woodland Heights Elementary is also under lockdown.
