UPDATE: Keene Fire Department says 64 agencies responded to weekend gas problems

The Associated Press

KEENE - Officials in Keene say 64 fire departments and ambulance crews from three states helped respond to last weekend's propane gas problems.

While there was no propane leak, problems with blowers that provide air to the Liberty Utilities' propane system resulted in a higher concentration of gas being distributed to customers. That in turn created higher carbon monoxide levels in some buildings.

Between Saturday morning and Sunday morning, fire and emergency personnel from New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts responded to more than 100 incidents, and authorities checked with all 1,250 customers to make sure they were safe.

Four people were treated at the hospital, including a woman found unconscious at a Hallmark store.
