UPDATE: Keene drug runner to spend 87 months in prison

CONCORD - A Nelson man will spend seven years in federal prison for his role as a heroin drug runner in the Keene area, authorities said.

Jason Daigle, 39, of Nelson, was sentenced to 87 months in prison last week after pleading guilty in January to a charge of conspiracy to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin.

Authorities say Daigle worked as a runner for a drug trafficking organization headed by Ross Gould, 28, of Richmond. As part of the conspiracy, Daigle distributed heroin for Gould in the Keene area and met with Gould's associates at the Rockingham Mall in Salem and in Lawrence, Mass. to take delivery of two kilograms of heroin, which he brought back to Gould.

A March 10 search of a locked safe Gould had at Daigle' home resulted in the seizure of over a kilogram of heroin and large quantities of cocaine and prescription pills. The same day, a search executed at Gould’s Richmond residence resulted in the seizure of additional narcotics, currency and 14 firearms.

On March 16, 2015, Gould was charged federally with possession with the intent to distribute heroin.

“The United States Attorney’s Office is committed to working with our local, state and federal law enforcement partners to address the significant presence of heroin in New Hampshire, by continuing to target drug trafficking organizations which are responsible for the importation of large quantities of heroin into New Hampshire,” stated United States Attorney Emily Gray Rice.
