UPDATE: Inmate missing from Manchester facility arrested in Auburn

MANCHESTER - An inmate missing from a transitional housing unit in Manchester was arrested in Auburn by the state police and brought to the stat prison on Tuesday night.

Robert Lee Clayton, 44 of Brattleboro, Vt., was reported missing as a walkaway at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. He did not have permission to leave the facility. After a search, he was placed on escape status at 3:30 pm.

Corrections officials say he serving three concurrent 2½-to-15 year sentences for robbery and would have been eligible for parole on Jan. 24.
