MANCHESTER – New details have been reported in the Manchester two-alarm fire.
Two of the four people injured have been identified.
Lynn Rene Marshall was the woman who was rescued by firefighters from a second floor porch in the early morning on Monday.
Firefighters threw a ladder to her on the porch and had to pry her hands from the railing as her clothes caught fire.
Carl Millard was one of the firefighters who was injured while he carried Marshall to safety. The firefighters were able to lift Marshall on the ladder but lost their footing, causing Marshall to fall on top of Millard.
Millard is currently being treated for burns and difficulty breathing in Elliot’s Hospital’s ICU.
Donald Rene said “It’s my mistake. I left some stupid hot dogs on in a small stainless-steel pot in a pan and put some water in it, and I just left it on. I didn’t realize that one small tiny mistake (like) this would do such tremendous damage.”
Andy McAuliffe, a neighbor said, “I just feel very very badly and to watch it happen in your own neighborhood it’s just kinda… gets ya…it hit home.”
