UPDATE: I-93 northbound back open after motorcycle accident
NEW HAMPTON - State police say Interstate 93 northbound has reopened at Exit 23 after a serious accident. Traffic is no longer being rerouted.
The road was closed for less than an hour following a motorcycle crash just north of the exit. State police say a single motorcycle driven by a 50-yr-old man struck the median guardrail. The subject was thrown from the motorcycle coming to rest in the left travel lane.
The motorcycle continued northerly then crossed onto the right shoulder embankment.
The subject was airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon in critical condition, after the medical helicopter landed on the interstate.
Traffic was diverted off of Exit 23 and rerouted onto Rte 132 north to Exit 24 in Ashland. The highway was shut down for approximately 50 minutes. Police say they are not releasing the identity of the driver at this time.
