HOOKSETT — Hackett Hill Road is back open to traffic, after it was closed down Monday as the result of a 6-alarm brush fire.
Several fire departments responded to the scene to work to put out the blaze. Firefighters said that the fire has been put out, where their only concern now is to monitor and locate hot spots so that the fire doesn't rekindle.
Nearby homeowners were on edge as they witnessed the blaze coming from down the street.
"My grandfather comes home and says 'there’s a six–alarm fire right across the way,' and I said should I take any precautions and he says 'yeah get dressed and stuff,'" Hooksett resident Michael Marshall said. "We have a pet and I got the carrier ready just in case we needed to get out of the house. I’m pretty nervous right now."
Thankfully, no homes were harmed in the fire where the scene is now under control.
The cause of the fire is still unclear and remains under investigation.
