UPDATE: Driver from fatal Salem crash arraigned on 8 charges, held on $65,000 bail


SALEM — The Hampstead man arrested in connection to a deadly car accident Tuesday on Route 111 has been arraigned.

Todd Gurley, 45, was charged with negligent homicide, aggravated DWI causing serious injury, DWI, driving after suspension, falsifying physical evidence and failure to stop at a stop sign. Police said they also found heroin in his possession.

He is being held on 65,000 cash only bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 10 in Salem. Gurley was driving a 2010 Honda Accord when he hit a Kia, killing a 69-year-old Atkinson woman who was driving the vehicle, police said.

The names of the woman who was killed and the people in the Toyota have not been released at this time. Police are still investigating and ask anyone with information to call the Salem Police Department at (603) 893-1911.
