NORTH HAVERHILL - A man has been charged with first- and second-degree murder in the death of an Alexandria baby.
Tommy Page, 29, has been indicted by a Grafton County Grand jury for causing the Nov. 13 death of Shawn Sylvester.
Sylvester died of blunt force trauma. Sylvester was reportedly visiting his mother Danielle Sylvester and Page, who was her boyfriend at the time, the night he was injured and later died.
The indictments, which were made public Wednesday, state the death was at the hands of Page and that Page applied crushing force to the baby's head "before, after, and/or while engaged in the commission of felonious sexual assault." Page is also accused of using an object to sexually assault the infant.
Page is also charged with manslaughter, falsifying evidence, for washing the baby's body, and administering a controlled drug. That drug is Buprenorphine, commonly known as Suboxone, which is used to treat opioid addiction.
Page already was being held at the Grafton County jail after being arrested at the end of November on separate charges of possessing child pornography.
Less than a month after the investigation into the death of an Alexandria infant began, the home where the investigation started burned down.
The home was ruled a total loss after the fire.
If Page is found guilty of the charges, he faces up to life in prison without parole.
