UPDATE: Derry shooting that killed teen ruled homicide, AG investigates self-defense claim

DERRY — An autopsy has confirmed the cause of 17-year-old Cole Kinney’s death was homicide.

The teen from Lowell, Mass. died after he was shot in the chest Wednesday night at about 11 p.m. in Derry.

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office said they have identified all parties involved and are actively investigating the incident, including the potential of a self-defense claim.

The shooting took place on North Shore Road near its intersection with Island Pond Road.

No charges have been made as of 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.
