Jesse Philbin was just 17 years old when he passed away due to his injuries Tuesday night. Philbin was thrown from a Subaru Forester being driven by Justin Proulx, 25 of Manchester while the family was coming back from a vacation in Florida. Two-year-old Landon Proulx, 4-year-old Kaiden Proulx and 24-year-old Krystal Kula - all of Manchester were also in the vehicle and were injured as a result of the crash as well. Justin Proulx and Kaiden Proulx remain in critical condition, and Kula and Landon Proulx are in stable condition.

Philbin was a junior at Pinkerton Academy and worked at Juliano's Pizzeria for the past year. As news of his death began to spread yesterday, his friends have been coming together to help each other deal with the loss.

Philbin is described as being fun and caring, and his friends said it was difficult at school Wednesday, saying everyone was in shock.

"It was a little bit surreal at first," Jesse's friend Daniel Hutchinson said. "I didn't really expect it to come out last night when it, did but walking in there this morning just knowing that I wasn't going to see him today it was just a little bit hard to deal with a little hard to bear."

Jesse's boss at Juliano's said it's like they've lost a part of their family.

"It was pretty hard just knowing that he was supposed to be back today in school, he's not coming back but yeah he's in a better place," Jesse's friend Bailey Leonardo said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation while the other four remain in the hospital.
