CONCORD - The Department of Transportation is on site of the closed northbound lanes on Interstate 93.
According to the DOT, the interstate will be closed for at least several hours if not more as officials assess and attempt to fix the massive sinkhole.
Large equipment and cement trucks will be required to fill and pave the highway before it can be open to the public.
There is also concern about a possible drainage pipe that could have been effected.
The southbound lanes on I-93 remain open at this time.
