UPDATE: Colby-Sawyer student killed in I-89 crash

SUTTON - A Colby-Sawyer College student died in a car accident on Interstate 89 near campus Monday.

Melissa Molin, 21, of West Hartford, Conn., was the lone occupant in car that hit a median near mile marker 24.8 in Sutton at about 3:45 p.m. She was taken to Concord Hospital where she died of her injuries.

According to the school's website, Molin was a senior studying psychology and a member of the school's swimming and diving team. Her parents live in Connecticut and she had one sister.

"The college community extends our deepest sympathies to Melissa's family and many friends as they try to come to terms with this devastating loss," wrote Vice President of Student Development and Dean of Students David Sauerwein in an e-mail to students. Counselors will be available at the school today for students.
