UPDATE: Child taken to hospital after police arrived to investigate possible meth lab in Manchester

MANCHESTER — Witnesses say a 4-year-old girl has been taken to the hospital after police arrived to investigate a home at 486 Spruce St. in Manchester Friday afternoon. The three-story apartment is now a crime scene for being a possible meth lab.

Police have confirmed very little and are not saying what they found, though several items were removed. Those items included Roebic crystal drain opener, nasal decongestants, batteries, a hot plate, cold packs and a jar containing an unidentified substance.

Police and other officials are still on scene.

A man was arrested on Monday, July 11, for trying to sell a DEA agent more than 16 pounds of meth. Rigoberto Ramirez Aldava, 40, of Manchester, operated El Patron Sports Bar and Grill.

The DEA said that bust was a record-amount of meth recovered in the state, and that it was part of the agency's commitment to "disrupt and dismantle Mexican drug trafficking organizations."
