UPDATE: Bow man tried to kill brother with front-end loader, police say

BOW — The man who used a front-end loader to tip over another piece of equipment occupied by his brother is being held on $170,000 cash bail pending a probable cause hearing on Oct. 18 at 8:30 a.m.

Peter Emanuel, 54 of Bow, was allegedly driving the front-end loader around the property when officers arrived. Reports say Emanuel ignored requests that he turn the machine off, and at one point backed towards police officers and their cruiser.

According to the affidavit, dispatch advised the responding officers that the disturbance involved one brother trying to kill the other brother by flipping him over will a bulldozer. Police say when they arrived that a large piece of construction equipment was laying on it side, with a cherry picker attached.

Stanley Emanuel, Peter's brother, told police that Peter Emanuel had ripped the crane over with a large yellow front-end loader while he was inside of the machine. He was able to jump out before the crane fully tipped.

Police found Peter Emanuel hiding inside of a garbage garage filled with trash. He continued to ignore the police and attempted to climb back up onto the front-end. He backed it up, almost hitting the police cruiser that was attempting to block him in. The officer was still in the car at this time but she was unharmed.

Police were informed that Peter Emanuel frequently visits 5 Fieldstone Drive in Bow and continued their search there, along with a K-9. The K-9 began to track him from the truck to a path behind the residence. Police later found Peter Emanuel on the street smoking a cigarette and arrested him without any further incident.

Emanuel has been charged with first degree assault, domestic violence, two counts attempted first degree assault, one count criminal mischief, and two counts resisting arrest or detention. Three of which are felonious charges.
