BARNSTEAD - The body of the father who drowned trying to save his son in the Merrimack River was found Thursday night.
The body of the 10-year-old boy was found earlier in the morning.
Rescue crews continued their search for the pair Thursday morning.
The Division of State Police-Marine Patrol received a 911 call around 6 p.m. Wednesday that a 10-year-old swimmer disappeared in the current of the Merrimack River.
The father went into the water to try to rescue the boy and also began to struggle.
After watching father and son disappear in the water, the mother called 911.
