UPDATE: Blood pool near a Londonderry ATM determined to be from a deer

A large pool of blood discovered in front of a Londonderry business near an ATM on July 8 was determined to be deer blood.

The pool, which began at an ATM, and trailed to a larger pool, was investigated as a crime scene, even involving the development of several leads.

Early tests confirmed that the blood was mammal blood, but could not verify that it was human.

Officers determined the source to be from a large deer that had been hit and killed by a vehicle near Route 102 and Mammoth Road.

A press release stated that given the circumstances, the scene would be investigated the same way again.
