UPDATE: 40 percent of Nashua high school students absent day after threat shuts down district

NASHUA - About 40 percent of students were absent at the Nashua high schools on Tuesday.

Schools opened again Tuesday after they were closed Monday as officials investigated an email threatening to cause harm to students and staff.

There were about 20 percent absent at the middle schools.

Absentees varied at the elementary schools from about 10 to 30 percent. The schools with higher percentages are the schools with the most walkers.

They were unable to pull numbers from last year for comparison.
