Unity lawmaker barred from bringing oxygen tank to Statehouse

CONCORD — An 80-year-old legislator from Unity with a lung problem was barred from bringing his portable oxygen concentrator with him to the Statehouse, but said today that the issue has been resolved.

The Valley News reported Republican state Rep. Ernie Bridge needs to be on the concentrator 24 hours a day after suffering a small "leak" in his lung in January. He was told by the House's sergeant-at-arms he could not bring the tank to his seat in the House chambers because it could block the emergency route for other lawmakers, The Valley News reported.

When reached by NH1 this morning, Bridge said the issue has been resolved and declined further comment.
