UNH students rally against sexual assault with speakers, march

DURHAM — Students at the University of New Hampshire turned out to send the message that sexual assault and harassment will not be tolerated.

The sexual harassment and rape prevention program (SHARPP) at UNH put this annual event together in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Junior Andrew Nemits and his fraternity brothers had a table set up to spread this message.

“Sexual violence is here on campus. It’s all over, everywhere, on and off campus, so that’s why we need the awareness," Nemits said. "We need the strength to stand up and stop the violence.”

Along with informational tables, the event also including a reading of UNH's Community Proclamation Against Violence, a student call to action to end violence at UNH and a 20-minute walk around campus.
