UNH power outage leaves many student dorms in the dark
DURHAM — The University of New Hampshire's main campus is experiencing some power outages that are affecting several buildings across campus.
An electrical team is investigating the issue and are working as fast as possible to get power back. Power outages were first reported Monday morning.
Adams Tower, Congreve, Craft Cottage, Elliott Alumni, Jessie Doe, Hamel Rec, Lord, McLaughlin, NEC, Smith, Stillings, Stoke, Whittemore Center and the Woodsides were originally without power.
Sawyer, Scott, McLaughlin and Congreve Halls are still expected to be without power until 10 p.m. Outdoor portable lighting units will be deployed in the area of these buildings for safety.
Stillings Dining hall will expected to close, and university officials urged residents of those dorms to go to the Memorial Union Building, recreation center and/or the various campus libraries for Wi-Fi, heat, lights and other comfort needs.
Officials said work to restore all power will continue until campus is back to normal.
