UNH organization plans rally in solidarity with refugees, against deportations
DURHAM — An organization at the University of New Hampshire has organized a rally against President Trump's travel ban.
The UNH Middle Eastern Cultural Association is hosting this event in solidarity with refugees after Trump's most recent executive order banning refugees from entering the country for 120 days and immigrants from seven predominantly Muslim nations out for three months.
The event organizers are asking people to attend with candles and messages of support to stand up for their friends in the affected countries. The countries affected are Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen, and Somalia.
NH1 will be live from the event at Thompson Hall at 105 Main Street at the University of New Hampshire at about 1 p.m Wednesday.
