The Associated Press

DURHAM — Andrew Poturalski of the University of New Hampshire's men's hockey team has been named one of 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award.

The award is given annually to the nation's top NCAA Division I men's hockey player that displays outstanding skills in all phases of the game, strength of character on and off the ice, sportsmanship and scholastic achievements. Finalists were selected by voting from all 60 Division I college hockey head coaches and by online fan balloting.

Poturalski, of Williamsville, New York, signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League last week.

He finished the 2015-16 season with 52 points on 22 goals and 30 assists, good for second in the country and first in the conference.
