UNH girls gymnastics places second in season opening quad-meet


UNIVERSITY PK,PA - UNH gymnastics team was pushed into second place on Saturday's open quad meet at Penn. State after Meghan Plfieger placed second on vault and tied for third place on balance beam.

UNH placed ahead of Rutgers(3) and Cornell(4). Penn. state, ranked 16 in the country, placed first with an overall score of 194.675.

UNH began with high beam and completed as a team with a total score of 48.00. The Cats' placed eigth on floor with a total score of 48.025. Scoring 48.700 on vault, the team finished on uneven bars with a total score of 48.025.

Casey Lauter, with a score of 38.650, placed eight and was top-all around performer for UNH.

The Wild Cat's home-opening will be at the Lundholm gym against Yale, January 18th at 1 p.m.
