UNH applications at a record high
DURHAM - The University of New Hampshire received more than 20,000 first-year applications this year, nearly 1,000 more than last year and a new record.
The university plans to enroll about 3,000 freshmen this fall. Vice-President Victoria Dutcher says possible reasons include hosting a nationally televised presidential primary debate in February, Gallup surveys showing higher employment of alumni, and the success of the university's nationally ranked football team.
