Two teenagers arrested in Manchester for breaking into cars, one allegedly stole a shotgun
MANCHESTER - A group of teenagers were arrested for allegedly breaking into unlocked vehicles and stealing belongings including a shotgun.
Early Saturday morning Manchester police say they received reports of young kids on bicycles who were supposedly going through vehicles in the area of Huse Road and Weston Road.
Police said when they arrived in the area of Weston Road and Kara Street, they located three individuals, two on bicycles.
Police said they were able to detain the two on bicycles, Kevin Rojas Garcia, 17, of Manchester and a juvenile male, 16, also of Manchester, but the third got away.
When searched, the police said they found three backpacks containing several items which had been taken from unlocked vehicles, including a shotgun.
Garcia and the juvenile were arrested and charged with loitering or prowling and receiving stolen property. Police said Garcia was charged with theft by unauthorized taking, a felony, because he had taken the shotgun from one of the vehicles on Huse Road.
The incident remains under investigation, and police are asking for anyone with information to contact the Manchester police department at 624-4040
