New Hampshire Fish and Game officers say two skiers were unprepared for a winter hike and ski trip which forced them to call for help yesterday.
Loudon Fruth, 25, of Huntsville, Utah and Michael Nocek, 26, of Greenwich, Connecticut encountered problems while trying to hike up the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail Sunday for a planned ski trip. NHFG say the pair were caught by darkness on their trip down, their one flashlight failed and were left with only light from their cell phones.
Fish and Game say being off marked trails and attempting to ski down the ravine and oncoming darkness contributed to the difficult situation, prompting a rescue.
Conservation officers hiked to the two skiers and provided assistance.
