Two police officers shot in Manchester, several schools canceled as manhunt underway

MANCHESTER - Two police officers have been shot in Manchester and a manhunt is under way for an armed suspect.

Police Chief Nick Willard said the officers are OK and is not releasing their names at this time.

Police have asked residents to shelter in place for the area around Wayne Street, Putnam Street, and Rimmon Street this morning.

Schools in the west end of Manchester are closed for the day because of the search.
