Two injured in Peterborough fire

PETERBOROUGH - A two-alarm fire injured two people Wednesday afternoon on Old Mountain Road.

The Peterborough fire marshal arrived on scene first shortly before 1 p.m.

Rescue crews struck a second alarm after learning there was a man trapped inside the house.

Fire crews found the man who they described as elderly on the floor of a bedroom. The man was taken to a local hospital and then to a trauma center in Massachusetts by ambulance.

The woman who was injured decline treatment.

An update from the fire department is expected later today. They would not release information of the cause of the fire at this time as it is under investigation.

The home had working smoke detectors.
