Two arrested in Manchester, NH, charged with stealing truck

MANCHESTER - Two people are facing charges after an officer was nearly struck by a stolen truck, police said.

Officers Robert Bifsha and Kevin O'Meara were stopped in front of 401 Hanover St. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at 12:25 a.m., when they saw a pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed, police said.

The Dodge Ram truck was heading east on Hanover Street toward the officers, police said.

O'Meara jumped over the hood of his cruiser to avoid being hit, police said.

Police were eventually able to chase down the suspects.

Arrested was Heather Kowack, 28, and James Marcoux, 22, both of Manchester.

Kowack is charged with resisting arrest/detention.

Marcoux is charged with possession of stolen property, conduct after an accident; possession of a controlled drug, and driving after suspension/revocation.
