Trump to attend New England police union's candidates forum

PORTSMOUTH (AP) — Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump is scheduled to be the guest of honor at a meeting of the New England Police Benevolent Association this week in Portsmouth.
The Portsmouth Herald reports Thursday night's meeting at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel is being described by the police union as a "presidential candidate's forum."
NEPBA Executive Director Jerry Flynn says the NHPBA's nine-member board will vote to either endorse Trump or no one.
The NEPBA reportedly also extended offers to Republican candidates Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush and Ben Carson to attend the meeting along with Democratic nominees Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley.
Flynn says only Trump and Bush committed to attend, but Bush ended up having to cancel.
The NEPBA doesn't endorse candidates who don't attend their forum.
