Trucker facing assault charges in Raymond for injuring man who asked him to move his rig

RAYMOND - A North Carolina man is facing several charges after he allegedly became violent towards 7-Eleven employees who asked him to move his truck from their property.

Police arrested Raymond Smallwood, 49, of Raleigh, N.C., on charges of second-degree assault, simple assault, and criminal threatening.

Employees told police Smallwood became angry and violent when they asked him to move his tractor-trailer Sunday at 7:11 a.m. Police said Smallwood pushed one of those employees causing a wrist injury.

Smallwood is scheduled for a bail hearing Wednesday.
