Troy man accused of 5-year pattern of sexual assault on male child

KEENE — Police arrested a 37-year-old man from Troy on charges of sexually abusing a child over the course of five years after an investigation that began on Oct. 4.

A subject reported that Frederick "Jason" Hodgman was a household member with the male victim, who he first assaulted in 2000 when the victim was 10.

Police describe Hodgman's actions as a "pattern of assault," which included rubbing his genitals against the victim's genitals, and engaging in anal sex when the victim was 15.

A warrant was issued Oct. 12 for Hodgman's arrest after the case was brought before the court. The warrant allowed the search of Hodgman's person, and electronic devices as well.

He was arrested without incident, and charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault and felonious sexual assault. More felony charges are anticipated.

He will appear in court Oct. 13 at the Cheshire Superior Court.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone who has further information is encouraged to call the Keene Police Department at 603-357-9820; ask to speak to Det. Donald Lundin or Det. Jen Ramey.
