Trial begins for NH woman accused of beating child with a baseball bat


MIDDLETON — The trial regarding a 34-year-old woman allegedly hitting a 12-year-old child with a bat causing bodily injury is scheduled to begin Thursday morning at about 10:30 a.m.

Erica M. Hunt, of Middleton, allegedly struck a 12-year-old child in the thigh with a baseball bat on the afternoon of May 14.

At the time of the arrest, Hunt was already out on bail on a Rochester charge for issuing a bad check in an amount over $1500.00.

She was held on $5,000 cash only bail. Second-degree assault is a class B felony punishable by 3½ to 7 years in State Prison. If convicted, Hunt may face an extended sentence as this crime occurred while out on bail.
