Tree care workers volunteering at NH veterans cemetery

BOSCAWEN (AP) — Tree care workers are volunteering their time to prune and remove trees at the State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

They're working at the 104-acre cemetery Wednesday, providing expertise in tree structure, invasive insects, diseases, and best management practices for tree health.

The "Saluting Branches" event began as an idea from a group of Minnesota tree workers looking to give back to military troops, and has evolved into a national project.

The New Hampshire workers are partnering with Unitil Service Corp., All About Trees, and other groups.
