Traffic stop near Manchester SWAT scene leads discovery of crack pipe, man's drug arrest


MANCHESTER — A traffic stop near a SWAT scene in Manchester lead to the drug arrest of a man after police said they found a crack pipe in a cigarette pack.

Police made the stop on Belmont Street near Hayward Street on Thursday night.

The driver, Shannon McFarland, 27, gave police consent to search her car. Detectives located a cigarette pack with a used crack pipe inside of it.

They said the pipe belonged to Brandon Griffin, 28 - a passenger in the car.

Griffin was charged with possession of a controlled drug and falsifying evidence for attempting to conceal the pack.

He appeared in court Friday morning, no further details have been released.
