MERRIMACK - Traffic backed up leading to the polls at Merrimack High School on Tuesday despite a new traffic pattern that made certain roads one-way only near the high school.
Merrimack police said the new rules would apply from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the presidential primary voting hours. O'Gara Drive to Baboosic Lake Road were made one-way with drivers asked to enter the high school from McElwain and Woodbury streets and exit the parking lot onto O'Gara Drive to Baboosic Lake Road.
Traffic officers and police volunteers were scheduled to help direct drivers into and out of the parking lots.
