Toddler run over by a vehicle at a NH home flown to Massachusetts hospital

JAFFREY—Police are investigating how a 3-year-old girl was run over by a car Sunday afternoon.

First responders were called to Cary Road in town about 12:44 p.m. for a report of a child that had been run over by a motor vehicle. Jaffrey firefighters responded to the scene and found the girl with injuries to her lower extremities and possibly her abdomen.

A fire department spokesman said the car slipped out of park and began moving. The girl was caught by a rear wheel and run over.

Peterborough ambulance took the child to the helipad at Monadnock Community Hospital and the child was flown to UMASS Worcester for further treatment.

No other information is available on the child's condition. Jaffrey police are expected to release more information Monday according to the Jaffrey Fire Department.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
