Toddler needing heart transplant gets multi-agency escort during hospital transport

PENNSYLVANIA — A 23-month-old child in need of a heart transplant was escorted by a convoy of plow trucks, state police and National Guardsmen from one hospital to another in the blizzard Tuesday.
NBC10 reported that the convoy escorted an ambulance carrying the child for about 80 miles from Mt. Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, to Geisinger Children’s Hospital in Danville, Pennsylvania.
State police told NBC10 that the child made it to the hospital safely.
