ALSTEAD - A three-alarm brush fire is raging in the Camp Brook Road area.

Officials say the fire has already consumed more than an acre and is still going. Numerous fire departments from around the area have been responded. Route 12 has been shut down at Pratt Road.

Many of these fire departments were the same that responded to the Stoddard fire on April 17. A volunteer Stoddard firefighter David Plante, 31, has been charged with one count of arson in that fire.

As an active member of the Stoddard Fire Department, Plante finished his firefighter training in 2014. Police said that with no further evidence, they do not believe that there are any other suspects involved.

The massive fire that started Thursday night and burned right through until Friday, and has been 100 percent contained where crews said they will be working through the weekend to put out any additional hot spots.

Plante is being held without bail, pending his arraignment scheduled for Monday afternoon.
