Thousands of Nascar fans travel to Loudon for Race Weekend

LOUDON- It's race weekend! Thousands of Nascar fans are flocking to the Granite State to watch some of the biggest names compete.

Thursday and Friday, thousands of campers and trailers got set up for what’s expected to be an exciting weekend on the track at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

It's a fast-paced weekend with plenty to do for the whole family; lots to eat and drink and some carnival rides for the kids.

Collin Cassidy drove down from New Brunswick, Canada for the weekend and tells NH1 News he’s here to root on Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

“I'm going to hug Dale Earnhardt, Jr. I'm a heterosexual man, if he's ok with it, I would like to hug that gentleman,” Cassidy said.

The big race on Sunday is expected to attract more than 100,000 fans. Nascar legend Jeff Gordon will make his final pre-race trip around the Magic Mile in a Duck Boat. Gordon is retiring after this season.
