This is what the World Series looked like through the eyes of a Cubs fan in NH

Wednesday was the longest day of my life - and also the happiest.

Waiting for the Chicago Cubs to take on the Cleveland Indians in a winner-take-all World Series? Movies are written about games like these.

I've been in New Hampshire for the past six years, but I grew up in Chicago. I bleed Cubbie Blue. A make-shift Wrigley Field scoreboard hangs in my living room next to a picture of Wrigley Field showing the last time the Cubs won the NL pennant and made it to the Series - 1945. I fly an actual "W" flag.

I could tell you about the game, but I'm sure you watched it. I think it might be easier to show you what that night was like for a Cubs fan. So take a look. You Boston fans might even get shockwaves of 2004 nostalgia.

(Editor's note: Yes, I'm wearing a cape. Started as a gag, ended up as a superstition. No, I'm not sorry.)

There are a lot of highs - Dexter Fowler's lead-off homerun, "Grandpa" David Ross's homerun in his last official at bat, and Kris Bryant smiling the entire time while throwing the ball to Anthony Rizzo for the last out.

There are also some serious lows - The name Rajai is ruined for me forever. Dartmouth grad Kyle Hendricks was pulled too soon, then later so was Jon Lester.

My upstairs neighbor might never forgive me.

Chicago won't forget. I won't forget. America won't forget. The Cubs are World Series champs. So forgive me if I soak in the moment.

No, I'm not crying at a beer commercial. There's something in my eye.
