Thief steals cash from Girl Scouts selling cookies in Rochester

ROCHESTER - A Girl Scout Troop selling cookies at a local store were robbed Friday night.

According to a release, police say it happened at the Walgreens on South Main Street just before 7pm.

The Scouts told police they were selling cookies at the main entrance to the store when a man grabbed their cash box and ran off. He's described as a black male, approximately 5'8", wearing a black winter hat and blue Patriots jacket.

Police say the suspect got away with in a green Toyota Camry with New Jersey plates and two other people inside. The vehicle was later found in the area of Winter Street and Adams Avenue, but the occupants then ran off on foot. They remain at large after a search of the area.

Cash rewards are offered for information that leads to an arrest.
