The 39th annual Market Square Day logo has been unveiled in Portsmouth
PORTSMOUTH — The logo for the 39th annual Market Square Day Festival & 10K Road Race on June 11 was unveiled Wednesday.
The logo was created by the Pro Portsmouth contest winner, Carolyn Vibbert, Seacoastonline.com reported. Her design was chosen over 50 other submissions.
The logo will be featured on the race, volunteer and festival T-shirts.
Typically, the event attracts 2,000 runners and walkers for the 10K race and 60,000 festival-enthusiasts to the center of the city.
The race will begin at 9 a.m. in Market Square. The festival will run from the start of the race until 4 p.m.
During the unveiling of the logo, Pro Portsmouth's executive director, Barbara Massar thanked the local businesses that help to make Market Square Day possible. Massar also announced the Pro Portsmouth featured nonprofit for this year's festival as Canine Community Corps.
Parking restrictions for this year's festival will begin at 4 a.m. on June 11. The parking garage offers parking for $5 during the festival.
