The 23rd annual coastal cleanup at Rye and Hampton Harbors

Saturday is the 23rd annual coastal trap clean up at both Rye Harbor and Hampton Harbor state marinas.

Commercial fishermen and volunteers will be out all day collecting lobster traps and other fishing gear that have washed up on the beaches and shorelines throughout the winter.

Lase year, more than 60 commercial fishermen helped clean up more than 14 tons of lobster traps and gear.

The general public is reminded that lobster pots and traps are private property. State law prohibits anyone but the gear owner or a NH Fish and Game Conservation Officer from possessing or moving them. To learn more about lobster harvesting, visit
