Tall ships to set sail Wednesday in Portsmouth Parade


PORTSMOUTH - The Sail Portsmouth 2015 Festival is set to kick off Wednesday with the Parade of Sail featuring the one-of-a-kind Spanish tall ship, the El Galeon Andalucia.

The 170-foot, 495-ton wooden ship will be the feature of this year's tall ship festival which is scheduled to last through Sunday.

The El Galeon Andalucia is a 16th century replica and will be tied up at the Fish Pier of Pierce Island and open for tours beginning Thursday from 10 a.m to 5:30 p.m.

Other tall ships showcased at this year's event will include the Portsmouth Fireboat, the Privateer Lync, a 120-foot topsail schooner, and the Gundalow.
