Swanzey man indicted for robbing store at knifepoint

SWANZEY - A Cheshire County grand jury has indicted a Swanzey man accused of robbing a convenience store at knifepoint in December.

The Keene Sentinel reports Keaton M. Carrier, 20, is charged with armed robbery at the Swanzey Neighbors convenience store and gas station on Old Homestead Highway Dec. 27.

Carrier showed a knife to a store clerk who then gave him an undetermined amount of cash, according to Swanzey Police Chief Thomas R. DeAngelis. There were no reported injuries.

Carrier was caught when officers pulled over the his car shortly after the incident. Police said Carrier admitted to the robbery.

A grand jury also handed up an unrelated misdemeanor charge of domestic violence against Carrier. The charge stems from a Jan. 23 incident in Swanzey. He is accused of putting his hands around a woman’s throat, according to court documents, The Keene Sentinel reported.
